Tweetospective
Reflect on the sprint in 280 characters or less!
Tweetospective is a serious game that encourages participants to summarise their thoughts on the sprint in the form of tweets. By using hashtags, mentions, and emojis, they express their ideas concisely and creatively. This game promotes synthesis, creativity, and active listening within the team.
Walkthrough
- 1
Introduction
5 minThe facilitator explains the concept of Tweetospective: each participant will summarise their sprint experience in a tweet of no more than 280 characters. They are informed that tweets can include hashtags, mentions, and emojis for added creativity. The goal is to share concise and engaging reflections.
Tip — Encourage participants to be sincere and use humour to make their tweets more engaging.

Writing the tweets
10 minParticipants take a few minutes to reflect and write their tweet. They can use paper or a whiteboard to jot down their ideas before finalising their message. The facilitator circulates to answer questions and encourage those who are struggling to get started.
Tip — Provide examples of tweets to inspire participants who may be stuck.

Sharing the tweets
15 minEach participant reads their tweet aloud. Other team members listen attentively and note ideas or feelings that resonate with them. The facilitator ensures that each participant has the opportunity to express themselves.
Tip — Use a symbolic object, like an imaginary microphone, to encourage participants to speak up.

Reactions and comments
10 minAfter each reading, other participants can react by adding comments or asking questions. The facilitator moderates the exchanges to ensure they remain constructive and supportive.
Tip — Encourage the use of thumbs up or other gestures to express quick agreement without interrupting the flow of discussion.

Collective synthesis
10 minThe facilitator asks participants to identify the main themes that emerged from the tweets. Together, they pinpoint the strengths of the sprint and areas for improvement. This collective synthesis helps build a shared vision of the experience.
Tip — Use a board or flipchart to note the themes and facilitate the visualisation of ideas.
Variants
- Ask participants to write their tweets in pairs to encourage collaboration.
- Limit tweets to 140 characters for an added challenge.
