What’S That Comic ? is a communication game where each participant receives a comic strip panel that they must describe without showing it to others. This game stimulates collaboration and the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.

Walkthrough

  1. 1

    Introduction

    5 min

The facilitator introduces the game by explaining its objective: to create a coherent story from oral descriptions of comic strip panels. They emphasise the importance of active listening and clear communication. "We will work together to reconstruct a story based solely on our oral descriptions."

TipUse a simple and fun comic strip to maintain participants' interest.

  2. 2

    Distribution of Panels

    5 min

The facilitator distributes a panel of the comic strip to each participant, ensuring that no one sees the panels of others. They remind participants not to show their panel and to focus on the description. "Keep your panel secret; your mission is to describe it accurately!"

TipEnsure that the panels are distributed in a random order to increase the challenge.

  3. 3

    Description of Panels

    15 min

Each participant, in turn, describes their panel to the others without showing it. Other participants can ask questions to clarify the description. "Try to be as precise as possible in your description. Others, feel free to ask questions to fully understand."

TipEncourage participants to take notes to better follow the thread of the story.

  4. 4

    Reconstructing the Story

    10 min

Participants discuss together to try to arrange the descriptions in an order that seems logical. They must collaborate and argue to decide on the correct sequence. "Work together to find the order that seems most coherent to you."

TipFacilitate the discussion by reminding participants to respect each other's opinions.

  5. 5

    Revelation and Discussion

    10 min

Once the order is decided, participants reveal their panels and compare them with the original order. The facilitator guides a discussion on the discrepancies and successes in the reconstruction. "Let's see how our story compares to the original. What adjustments did we have to make?"

TipUse this step to highlight the importance of clear communication and active listening.

Variants
