Identify the strengths and areas for improvement of your team.

Duration · 30 min
Participants · 5–20
Level · Beginner

Turn The Tables is a collaborative workshop that allows participants to share their perceptions on the strengths and areas for improvement of a project or team. Each participant expresses themselves freely using sticky notes, contributing to a collective reflection. This exercise promotes transparency and encourages a continuous improvement dynamic within teams.

Walkthrough

  1. 1

    Introduction

    10 min

The facilitator begins by presenting the objective of the workshop: to identify the strengths and areas for improvement of the team. They briefly explain the course of the activity and its importance for collective development. Participants are invited to reflect on their recent experiences within the team.

TipUse a personal anecdote to illustrate the importance of collective reflection.

  2. 2

    Individual Reflection Phase

    15 min

Each participant receives a pad of sticky notes and a pen. The facilitator asks participants to individually reflect on the strengths and areas for improvement of the team, then to write one idea per sticky note. This step allows everyone to structure their thoughts before the collective sharing.

TipEncourage silence during this phase to allow for deep reflection.

  3. 3

    Group Sharing

    20 min

Participants stick their notes on a board divided into two columns: strengths and areas for improvement. Each person briefly explains their contributions. The facilitator ensures that all participants have the opportunity to express themselves and encourages constructive exchanges.

TipUse different colours of sticky notes to easily distinguish strengths from areas for improvement.

  4. 4

    Discussion and Prioritisation

    20 min

The facilitator guides a discussion on recurring themes and identified priorities. Participants vote on the points they consider most important to address. This step aims to create a consensus on the actions to be taken.

TipUse stickers for voting to make the process visual and engaging.

  5. 5

    Action Plan

    15 min

Together, participants develop an action plan to address the identified areas for improvement. The facilitator ensures that each action is specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound (SMART).

TipAssign a responsible person for each action to ensure follow-up.

  6. 6

    Closure

    10 min

The facilitator thanks the participants for their involvement and recaps the key points and the action plan. They emphasise the importance of regularly revisiting these reflections to maintain the continuous improvement dynamic.

TipEnd on a positive note by highlighting the identified strengths.
